Ullapool
There are 20 thread colours and in this design some, but not many, half stitches and backstitches have been used to give a more realistic look. These are very important as they add the finishing touch giving a smooth look particularly to the skyline.
Finished size of this design is 100 x 75 stitches, approx. 7” x 5”

The British Fisheries Society created Ullapool as a planned fishing village in 1788. It is still a busy fishing port and the main ferry terminal for Stornaway in Lewis and the Western Isles today.
This view is seen as you approach from the south or the east looking towards Ullapool down Loch Broom with the sea beyond it is set on a narrow finger of land that points out into the sheltered sea loch. It is the largest centre in Wester Ross and is, so far, the northernmost of my designs.
